I decided to do this blog post in english, for my ever growing global audience ;)
This week was full of social events. Monday evening saw Frankenstein at Finnish National Theater, read HS review here. Wednesday we had Heini's and Ali's last Helsinki evening dinner and yummy drinks at Patrona. I recommend the mixture plate, that had delicious tasty ceviche and guacamole and pineapple salsa and beansauce. Thursday I participated Culinary Bridge event in US embassy, and friday we made our way to Demo's 10 yrs B-day party. Delicious, delicious one-bite appetizers and new champagne love: Gosset Grande Réserve Brut. I am horrible at remembering names, so I think of Gossip Girl and remember this ;)
... and this week I bought flights to London! Wooohoo, darlings! Looking forward to this trip so so much because I will see my boyfriend there after 7 long months. Yes, it is an excrusiatingly long time to be apart. No, it is not easy to be in a long distance relationship. But the waite is almost over... Not getting too deep into lovelofe, hehee, because I wanted to talk about my other big love: travelling.
It is the greatest, most happiest feeling to have your feet off the ground. Being on your way to somewhere. Seeing the sceneries change. Being there, being part of something new.
The first thing I love to do after I get off the plane is .. Smelling the new surroundings! That sets the mood. And the airport already tells you something about the country. Then the stomach twisting excitement starts to grow: getting to the new city. Eyes and ears wide open you get in as much as possible: talk, music, traffic, streets, buildings. Your head is full of ideas, what you want to do with your new friend, this new city.
By far, arriving to the heart of New York has been the most exciting feeling ever. It really is like you are in a movie. Barcelona was very welcoming also and charmed me at the airport already. How is that even possible, to fall in love with a city based on it's airport? See, I am pretty easy ;)
Then comes the wonderful part: tasting the new city. First bite of something new and exciting. First sip of local wines. How about a glass of nice, chilled cava with some fresh nice tapas? Grilled veggies, seafood, mmm... Heavenly.
I am not a master of wines, but I definately want to do a winetrip to France and another food lover tour to Italy soon. Also Napa Valley is in my mind: had a chance to taste Grigh Hills Estate wines and I could see myself travelling from winery to winery.. In a red roadster, big sunglasses and scarf wrapped around my head! (Why did my mind come up with a crazy mixture of movies Sideways and Thelma & Louise?)
I want to finish this post with few travel photos to brighten up this winter morning.
Loves you all!
